Description:
Where Time Doesn’t Stand Still
Does the history of technology and industry appeal to you? Do you appreciate environments both lovely and uncommon? We offer facetious exhibitions on many subjects, from industrial products to Arn the Templar, as well as skilled guides, professional stage shows, a varied musical program and different craftsmen at work, such as shipbuilders and blacksmiths. Come and visit the Forsvik Industry Memorial, with its genuine mill site, living history, its wharfs and unique buildings and the wood grinding among others. If you wish to stay overnight, this can be arranged. Reservations can be made at the hostel in the workmen’s quarters. Forsvik is listed as building memorial and a national point of interest. It is located about ten kilometres north-west of Karlsborg.
Events during the summer:
Forsvik offers a variety of experiences. Why not enjoy a stage play or a musical in the Foundry? Or go on a trip with Sweden’s oldest steamboat on the beautiful lake Viken, and Göta Canal. And you wouldn’t want to miss the construction of the paddle-wheel steamboat Erik Nordevall II in the metal workshop.
